Sedgwick is a producer born out of Ballarat, Victoria. With classical training on Drums and percussion, he relocated to Melbourne in 2013 to pursue studies within the music industry. Undertaking RMIT’s Music Industry course, he developed a love for Electronic Music in all of it’s forms.
Heavily inspired by the production technique’s of Jay Dilla and Pete Rock - Sedgwick began to dabble in the art of sampling and collecting records. The club scene in Melbourne sparked excitement for the producer/dj - regularly attending the Mania Series at Lounge as well as the Spin Club events at The Mercat (RIP).
Quickly becoming a regular at local record store institution Wax Museum, he was able to gather information and advice from local record label heads Sleep D (Butter Sessions). This helped inform him to co-found the record label Potatoheadz with long-time friend and recent collaborator Colombo Kidd (Young Spice/Flatt Foot). The record label has since released multiple short-run’s of House-Techno compilations on cassette. Recently hosting their first party at The Gasometer Hotel - the label shows no signs of slowing down.
